The scoop on restorative yoga and skin health

Restorative Yoga brings peace of mind as well as many therapeutic benefits to your skin and body. It will bring your body deep relaxation and rejuvenation and gently opens the body and mind to new possibilities. Through the use of supports provided by blankets, bolsters, blocks, and straps traditional yoga poses are modified. Poses are held for 3-30 minutes, encouraging deep relaxation, healing and will also prepare for a good night’s sleep.

FYI: sleep is the biggest beauty booster of all! We all know we need sleep to rejuvenate our mind and heal our body in the same way we understand exercise is good for us. Sometimes it is not that easy to fall asleep, or to stay asleep for as long as we need to in order to be totally rested for various reasons. A lack of sleep may result in puffy eyes, dark circles and dull skin.

It is proven that our bodies need between 8-9 hours of sleep a day, however, we often just sleep as long we need to in order to “get by” because there are just so many hours in a day. Unfortunately, we can’t ‘catch up’ on sleep so make sure to schedule your sleep just as you set your schedule during the day. Sleep is a magical time for your body; it’s when some of the body’s most important repair and revival work happens.

Doing yoga every day or as often as possible is one of the best ways to combat sleep disorder. As few as 3-6 poses daily can do the trick. In this workshop Paula will guide you through a few restorative yoga poses you can also do at home to bring a better nights sleep.

Paula Edwards has been a certified yoga instructor for over 15 – years and is trained and experienced in hatha yoga (poses, stretches, and movement), but also places a special emphasis on restorative yoga. Paula has found the practice of supported, resting stretches and postures rejuvenates the body and re-invigorates her students. You will be pleasantly surprised by your results in her yoga sessions.

Hope to see you there!
