Did you know that kindness is contagious – and good for your health?
Positive emotions are proven to reduce stress and boost the immune system. Kindness stimulates the production of serotonin, the feel-good chemical, which helps heal our wounds, calm our senses, and make us happy. Witnessing acts of kindness produces the ‘love hormone’ oxytocin, which lowers blood pressure and improves overall heart-health.
What’s more, the positive effects of kindness are experienced in the brain by the giver, the receiver, and the observer! Moods improve, and the likelihood of each person “paying it forward” is significantly increased. Just one good deed can create a domino effect and enhance the day of dozens of people!
