3-Day Fruit Fast

I just completed this fruit fast and love the amazing results!!  My skin looks radiant, my eyes are clear; I feel lighter and am infused with more energy!!

This fast is a modified way to clean out the system, eating nothing but fresh fruit for three days. Active fasting will allow your body to full empty out and get clean; giving your metabolic organs a chance to rest and renew. The key is planning the meals and snacks ahead of time.

You can eat fruit in all forms: cooked, raw, dried, and frozen. I was a bit worried how I would do around dinnertime but once I was clear on the “veggie like” fruits it was not hard to do. I did stir-fry, steam or cook in the oven for lunch and dinner using olive and sesame oil for cooking, and you can season your food as well.  I also made a trail mix with the dried fruits and some nuts as a snack.

The difference between fruits and vegetables is that all fruit has seeds (vegetables are roots, stems, leaves and flowers). 

Some examples of fruits are: 

Tomatoes, avocado, peppers (red, yellow, orange, green, jalapeno, etc), yellow squash, zucchini, butternut squash, pumpkin, spaghetti squash, cucumber, nuts and peas (we actually eat the seeds), green beans, eggplant, okra, olives.

Apple, apricot, banana, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, pineapple, cherries, dates, figs, grapefruit, grapes, kiwi, mango, nectarine, orange, papaya, peaches, pear, plum, tangerine, watermelon.
